Increase of existing stamps. The April 3rd price increase will result in all existing 1st and 2nd class stamps currently available being sold at 32p and 23p respectively. This will include retail booklets, prestige booklets, and minisheets.

The Universal overseas rate will now cost 50p (postcards) 64p (Europe to 40g) and £1.19 (worldwide to 40g)

June New Issues

There are two GB stamp issues in June. Firstly on June 6th stamps celebrating World Cup Winners of the past to coincide with the World Cup being held in Germany from June 9th - July 9th 2006.

1st Class England

Printed by Walsall in Lithography. All have two phosphor bands and PVA gum.

Next we have the Modern Architecture stamps released on 20th June 2006.

72p The Deep, Hull

Printed by Walsall in Gravure. All have two phosphor bands and PVA gum.

The Year '2006' is incorporated within the phosphor bands as in the 2005 Christmas and Queen's birthday stamps.

Apr 1st 2006

Definitives withdrawn from post offices today 35p, 40p, 46p, 47p and 68p
Also the 42p and 68p country stamps will also be withdrawn from general sale at post offices. They will remain on philatelic sale until further notice.

Also withdrawn today (Apr 1st) will be any remaining stocks of the British Journey stamps (Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland, and South West England).


Wembley Stadium minisheet

Further news that Wembley stadium will not yet open for competition or concerts until 2007 will postpone the minisheet due. Shown in it's proof stage below. Originally set for release on May 11th could now be set for a November release but don't hold your breath.

With 'Pricing in Porportion' (PIP) rates coming into force on 21 Aug 2006 we could be set for some new definitives and the 72p stamp shown here could then be out of date we will have to wait and see.
